Merge two scanned images to create a single double-page spread image in [Merge Pages] in ScanSnap Home.

Only the images of documents that you scanned with the ScanSnap can be edited.

The following combinations of images can be merged:

  • Selecting two content data records, each of which contains a single-page image in a PDF format

  • Selecting two content data records, each of which contains a single-file image in a JPEG format

In addition, to create a double-page spread image, the two scanned images that you want to merge must meet the following conditions.

  • The size and orientation of both images are the same

  • The size of each image does not exceed the criteria below

    • When merged vertically: a horizontal size of 305 mm and a vertical size of 440 mm

    • When merged horizontally: a horizontal size of 440 mm and a vertical size of 305 mm

  • After two images are merged together, a maximum allowable size for a merged image is 440 × 602 mm.

  • If fingers are captured in the images, fill in the captured finger areas with Book Image Viewer before you create a double-page spread image.

  • You cannot merge images in PDF format which are protected with security settings such as a password even if they are scanned with the ScanSnap.

  • If another software is used to edit an image in a PDF format, it might not be possible to create a double-page spread image.

  • If text information is embedded in the selected image in a PDF format, the created double-page spread image will not contain the text information from the original image.

    When embedding text information onto a double-page spread image that you created for a second time, refer to Converting Content Data Records into Searchable Ones.

  1. Display the Main Window of ScanSnap Home.

    Click the [ScanSnap Home] icon in the application list that appears when you click Launchpad in the Dock.

  2. In the folder list view, select the folder which the images that you want to merge are saved in.
  3. In the content data record list view, select two content data records to merge an image in one content data record and an image in another content data record.

    Select the content data records while holding down the [command ] key or [Shift] key.

  4. In the menu that appears when you click the content data records while holding down the [control] key, select [Tools] [Merge Pages].
  5. Select two pages to be merged in the Pages Panel in the [ScanSnap Page Merger] window.

    Select the pages while holding down the [command ] key or [Shift] key.

  6. Click the [Merge Pages] button to switch Preview to a double-page spread view.

    Change the vertical/horizontal arrangement of the pages so that the merged image looks as you want.

  7. Click the [Combine] button to merge the selected pages.
  8. Click the [Save] button.
  9. Check the title name and click the [Save] button.

The two images are merged, and a single double-page spread image is created.

The size, resolution, and color mode are automatically adjusted for the merged image.
