This is an old version of the classic game Tetris for Macintosh System 6 from 1988. It is still playable on Mac OS 9.2.2. Your goal is to make straight lines. Play Tetris and Other Games Playing games like Tetris or Snake from Terminal takes a bit more work than watching Star Wars but is simple nonetheless. 1) Open Terminal. 2) Type the following command (without quotes) “emacs” and then hit enter. Then you will need to type fn and F10 simultaneously, and then follow with “t” and then “g”.

  1. Tetris with several modes for two players. Competition Modes. Parallel match - Two regular independent tetris games happening side by side. Mirror match - Two players are receiving identical figures. Speed-up your opponent - when a line is completed, opponent's game speed is doubled until they complete their own line. Cooperation Modes.
  2. “A blend of physics-based tetris and magic in a sweet little package makes this a must have for gamers of all ages and sizes.” 9.5/10 – GameGrin “Each game mode is genuinely enjoyable, and having modes that require different speeds of play and forms of strategy is an excellent way to keep players coming back for more” 8/10 – GameSpew.

Is this the Eliza written by Tom Bender, the author of 'Tex-Edit Plus', the World's Coolest Word Processor?

Ohmygod, is it the real Eliza or her evil twin? Knowing the answer to this will determine whether I upgrade to Jaguar or not. Answer quick!

You don't need 10.2 for this to work. It worked for me under 10.1.5, but she is too stupid to be useful :-)

I can't seem to get any reaction from Eliza at all in 10.1.5. Nothing happens. Here's the scenario:
I am the psychotherapist. Please, describe your problems. Each time
you are finished talking, type RET twice.
My problem is my wife. She spends all my money and treats me badly
all the while.RET RET
My problem is my wife. She spends all my money and treats me badly
all the while.RETRET

RET

Look at me! I am rolling on the floor laughing my ass off!!!

wow... there is some repetition in there, but for a hidden little program, it really gets you typing.. maybe I need to see a therapist... :(

Got iChat? Try Aoliza too! :-)

Are you sure I am apparently a stupid <censored> idiot?
yes.
Yes, well, what makes you believe this is so?
because it is obvious.
Is it because it is obvious that you came to me?

This kind of thing could cause people with real problems to completely flip out.
But it is kind of fun. For about five minutes.

Hey I think I would like to download eliza on my computer to help me through out the day!

You said emacs comes with OS X. I just installed OS X.2 and emacs is nowhere to be found. It is simply not in the system and I did a complete install with Developer tools, etc. I use it under Darwin(fink), but it is nowhere in the native OS X system nor on the CD's.

Please excuse that post. I had a simple path conflict going there!

open the terminal, it is in the utilties folder, comes with all installs of OSX
then type in emacs and hit return :)

Maybe this is well known, but just in case: along with the kitchen sink, you also get the opportunity to waste time in your terminal window playing a lame game of tetris: in emacs, simply enter
M-x tetris
(ie 'Esc x tetris' for those without the option key mapped in terminal)
Cheers,
Paul

HOLY CRAP!!! That's the coolest ^&*@ thing I've ever seen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
See, VI doesn't have TETRIS!!! Come on!!!!

Use Perl to have eliza and emacs do your job for you
